Q: How long has the haunt been open?
A: This is the 11th year. The Haunt was opened by Travis
Owen as a Haunted Barn and Hayride. The Haunt was originally in the
white barn on the east side of Elsinore Farm (Burned down in 2006). It moved to
the Arena Barn affording us a much larger space to build the haunt in.
However after the large crowds of 2004, we knew we needed a larger place
to haunt in. We haunted Rockome Gardens in 2005. The haunt was
quite successful but the management at Rockome felt that there was too
much risk and effort required to put on a good haunt. So we began
hunting and found the best place possible - Ashmore Estates. As for
how long Ashmore Estates has been haunted -well, that's hard to say.
Q: How many actors does it take to produce the haunt?
A: We have as many as 70 actors and support staff working at any
one time. Unknown is how much assistance we will receive from the
current residents who already haunt the halls, rooms, and grounds of the
Estates.
Q: Is the event okay to bring young children to?
A: We desire to show youth that this is an entertainment event.
We will stay in character at all times, excluding emergencies or small
children. If the situation warrants coming out of character to help
a child understand that this is just entertainment, we will do so.
Please understand that if you come to get scared and you have a small
child with you that is scared, our actors will back off - and you will not
get the scares that you came for. Feel free to email the
Spookmeister if you have further concerns prior to coming to the
event. We will not be liable for your choice to bring young children
to an event which is scary by nature. If you have a child that is
truly scared of things of this nature, please be sure to accept this
responsibility before bringing that child.
Q: What is your refund policy?
A: Our job is to scare you. If you change your mind about
going in the haunt after buying your ticket you should feel you got your
money's worth. If you are too scared to go through with it we did our
job. We have an absolute policy of no refunds with one exception, as
always "Your Money back, if you don't survive."
Q: Do you have concessions available?
A: Yes, visit the Cadaver Cafe for seasonal and scary treats.
Q: Do you offer any gift or souvenir items?
A: Yes, T shirts and Midnight Syndicate CD's.
Q: How long does it take to go through the haunt?
A: It depends on what is chasing you!
Q: Do you typically have a long wait?
A: Weekdays usually have the least wait time. Weekends closer to Halloween are usually the busiest
time. This year we have a colored armband system that allows people to wander the concessions area, the
bonfire area and the historical display area while waiting for their armband color to be called - no more waiting
in a boring line!
Q: Do you guys really believe in ghosts?
A: You ask a Haunted House this question? You'll have to come
and see. According to every paranormal investigation we've had in the last 2 years Ashmore Estates is VERY
haunted.
Q: Are there any other Haunts close to yours?
A: Yes - check out our
Haunt
Directory
Q: What happens if the weather is bad? Do we stand outside?
A: No, We have an indoor waiting area for you to stay nice and
dry in. No use letting our victims die from pneumonia before we get
to scare them to death.
